Foot Work Basics – Male Triangle (Part 3)

This is the last part of the male triangle foot work notes. The foot work we shared in Part 1 and Part 2 of Male Triangle posts are mainly used in medio range. In Part 3, the foot work is for longer distance.

Also worth noting is that, in Part 1 and Part 2, the direction of body is parallel to the sticks. Whereas in this Part 3, the direction of body is perpendicular to the sticks.

4. MOVE TO THE RIGHT

4-1: Start at the bottom of the left arm

4-2: Move right, right foot to the tip of the triangle

4-3: Quick foot exchange at the tip of the triangle

4-4: Move right, right foot to the bottom of the right arm

From here, you can either draw the left foot towards the bottom of the right arm and move back left along the arms. Or, you can continue to complete the triangle.

5. COMPLETE THE TRIANGLE (clockwise)

5-1: Draw left foot towards the bottom of the right arm, and then move to the bottom of the left arm

5-2: Draw right foot towards the bottom of the left arm, and then move to the tip of the triangle

After 5-2, continue with 4-2 or change direction for a counter-clockwise triangle.

TIPS:
1. The direction of the feet also represents the direction of the body. Note that they should be perpendicular to the sticks.
2. When move left and right along the arms, move right, right in right out; move left, left in left out.
3. For counterclockwise circle, reverse the order.
