Foot Work Basics – Male Triangle (Part 1)

Male Triangle is one of the fundamentals of kali foot work. Below are some notes for moving right or left along the two arms of the male triangle.

1. MOVE TO THE RIGHT

1-1: Start at the bottom of the left arm
MaleTriangle 1-1

1-2: Move right, right foot to the tip of the triangle
MaleTriangle 1-2

1-3: Quick foot exchange at the tip of the triangle
MaleTriangle 1-3

1-4: Move right, right foot to the bottom of the right arm
MaleTriangle 1-4

2. MOVE TO THE LEFT

Basically, going to the left just reversing the above steps.

2-1: Start at the bottom of the right arm
MaleTriangle 2-1

2-2: Move left, left foot to the tip of the triangle
MaleTriangle 2-2

2-3: Quick foot exchange at the tip of the triangle
MaleTriangle 2-3

2-4: Move left, left foot to the bottom of the left arm
MaleTriangle 2-4

TIPS:
1. The direction of the feet also represents the direction of the body. Note that they should be parallel to the sticks.
2. Move right, right in right out; move left, left in left out.
