Guro Zack has had extensive training in Pekiti-Tirsia System of Kali directly with Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje in the Philippines, as well as in seminar in North America.  Traveling often to the Philippines, he has had the opportunity train, teach and fight with various schools there including the PTK Salcedo club in Manila.

Other martial influences are Kali Ilustrisimo, Corto Cadena escrima, and various other FMA styles.  Zack has also trained pencak silat Cimande  of  pencak silat Mande Muda  under guru Louie Lindo and pencak silat Gadjah Putih  under guru Loki Jörgenson.

HISTORY

Born in the Philippines, Zack trained in the Japan Karatedo association and achieved the rank of brown belt.  He also trained in arnis and Malayan Kan Fu  as part of his physical education in college.

Zack moved to Vancouver in 1996 and started training boxing and Muay Thai.  His kali career began under Guro Louie Lindo with Ikatan Kali, and progressed from there to include Sinkatan Arnis-Estrella before finally arriving at maelstrøm Martial Arts to train with Guro Loki Jörgenson.
