Starting in September, our usual Tuesday night empty hand class is switching to a class on free play, featuring:
- Guided play
- Open mat
- Student led exploratory
Why should I come to the Tuesday 2nd class? Coming to a concept driven play class that allows you to work through your marital repertoire in a playful, controlled, and meaningful way may not only allow you to gain a better understanding of the many components of the system and how they fit together, but also how your own individualized ways of moving fit into the techniques you already know. Not quite a Dog Brothers class, but not your typical technical class either, the concept/play class offers everyone, no matter skill level or experience, the chance to take it up a notch, move a little quicker, swing a little more directly, and overall have a great time! And if that’s not enough, the last half hour of the class is dedicated to “open mat” training; where students, and instructors, can explore the old, new, and never done before! Haven’t seen a technique in a long time, cant remember how to do the “first set of seguidas #3 and 5….this is the time and place to pick an instructors brain, collaborate with other students, or simply work on your own stuff. Open mat means open to what ever you want to work on, and do so in the company of like minded others!!
