Update From Ecuador

As many of you know, Guro Brett is currently down in Ecuador, helping to distribute water filters and assess the damage from the recent earthquake. Here is an umdate from him:

“The situation in Ecuador is pretty bad in the affected areas. In many communities the damage is not super evident, but it often affect critical infrastructure so people are without water, or without clean water, and there are few resources to help them.

In other places, like Pedernales, the damage is everywhere. The entire city core is damaged or destroyed. Huge swaths of the city are set for demolition. The level of destruction is overwhelming.

Our team is doing well, and are split between supplying water filters to remote communities that don’t have potable water, and using UAV’s (drones) to provide damage assessments. It’s been interesting bouncing between the two.

The people here can really use a lot more support and GlobalMedic is trying to raise funds to send more filters and hygiene kits. Please consider a donation.
