LightWaterDrums Festival is a winter lantern festival hosted by the Hastings North Community Partners Group (HNCPG) that celebrates the dark and wet of Vancouver winters and the joy of Hastings Park’s restored natural beauty. This years event is taking place on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
As its name suggests, the Festival combines the themes of “Light” using fire, lanterns, candles and installations in the Park that glow with light in the dark; “Water” which is the rain, pools, ponds and the underground stream running through the park; and “Drums”, the joyful noise of celebrations!
maelstrom has annually provided a number of volunteers for installation, setup, security and public safety. We are please to be involved in this unique public event, in support of Hastings Park, the Hastings-Sunrise community, and all the little children who love painted galoshes and umbrellas and the fantastic fire show by Radiant Heat.
