And do not miss the potluck BBQ with SE Asian flavors.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more \u2013 <a title=\"SEACAF 2014\" href=\"http:\/\/www.MonsoonSociety.org\/SEACAF.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.MonsoonSociety.org\/SEACAF.html<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Dom Lopez is a special guest instructor who will be teaching there.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez Villasin Balintawak Eskrima is a dynamic martial art system that takes its origins from the founder of the Balintawak system in Cebu, Philippines as it was passed to Atty Jose Villasin, whom Dr. Lopez trained with in his youth.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lopez has been teaching his style of Balintawak since the 1970 both here in BC and in Ontario.<br \/>\nBalintawak is a fluid and flowing form of stick-fighting rooted in the days of duelling which saw combatants testing what they trained sometimes with deadly impacts.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Dom Lopez started teaching Balintawak in Victoria in the early 1980s. He learned the art from Master (Attorney) Jose Villasin in Cebu in the early 1960s. Since that time he has instructed many students in Victoria, some of them having significant accomplishments in other martial arts.
