{"id":2512,"date":"2013-06-05T18:34:04","date_gmt":"2013-06-06T01:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maelstromcore.com\/?p=2512"},"modified":"2013-06-09T23:11:42","modified_gmt":"2013-06-10T06:11:42","slug":"update-philippine-independence-day-celebrations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/maelstromcore.com\/?p=2512","title":{"rendered":"Update &#8211; Philippine Independence Day Celebrations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we <a href=\"http:\/\/maelstromcore.com\/?p=2391\">mentioned<\/a> previously, this upcoming<strong> Saturday June 8th<\/strong>, there will be a Pista ng Bayan (a community fiesta) at Slocan Park celebrating the 115th Independence day of the country to which we owe our martial art.\u00a0 There are a variety of other related activities happening throughout the month, but we invite you specifically to join us this Saturday for some informal socializing and playing with sticks.<\/p>\n<p>From <strong>1pm to 3pm<\/strong>, maelstr\u00f8m will be gathering around ten 20 feet tall colourful flags.\u00a0 It will be somewhat like a regular training class, but with more breaks, chatting, and all around celebrating!\u00a0 We especially encourage students to come out, bring their sticks and maybe a bite to eat.
