Knife-like tools were believed to be used at least 2.5 million years ago. Originally made of rock, bone, flint and obsidian. Later made from bronze, copper, iron, steel, and for more modern materials, ceramics and titanium. Knives have been used as weapons, tools and eating utensils around the world.
